At the 1965 Newport Folk Festival, a young Bob Dylan made the folk music scene famous with his electric guitar playing, and rock became the voice of a generation – defining one of the most significant moments in 20th century music. Scenes depicting the 1965 Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island, where Bob Dylan made his first public appearance with an electric guitar, were filmed in the seaside resort of Cape May, New Jersey. Due to the resort’s commitment to National Landmark designation due to its focus on Victorian architecture as well as other 19th and 20th century architectural motifs, only minimal repairs were required.
