The journey of 26 looted royal treasures from the Kingdom of Dahomey exhibited in Paris, now returned to Benin. Diop artistically expresses the demands of a new generation. World premiere on February 18, 2024 at the 74th Berlinale Film Festival.. Not as good as people think. It might just be me, but this really isn’t the kind of movie I have any sort of deep interest in, and as such, I won’t be able to be all that objective here. The point being, this is just a simple, typical operation, it doesn’t bring anything new to the table, which I was hoping to judge by what others have said about Dahomey. Anyway, yeah, I just don’t have much else to say other than it doesn’t change anything in terms of how I see anything. Which is good, but then not good at the same time, but oh well, maybe next time.. Check out the full schedule for the 62nd New York Film Festival this fall.
