The series shifts the setting to the present day
Tale
The Jackal is an elusive assassin who makes his living by carrying out assassinations for the highest pay. He soon meets his worthy rival in a tenacious British intelligence officer who tracks him down in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe. The novel “The Day of the Jackal” is set in 1963 and concerns an assassination attempt on the then President of France Charles de Gaulle.
Remake of The Day of the Jackal (1973)
I noticed the strong commentary of “Where did we go wrong”. The casting of Redmayne was the perfect choice for this remake of a classic. The big mistake was casting the lead female role to Lashana Lynch, the female MI6 agent.
She seems too inexperienced for this role
As if she was trying too hard to impress and had less thought given to the role of her character, which should have gone to a more experienced actress. They should have cast a more confident and experienced actress like Christine Adams. I will admit that the rest of the cast was okay and the acting was decent.

The story and production were perfect for me and kept me glued to the action scenes with Redmayne. I was tempted to skip all of Lashana Lynch’s parts because they became so annoying. A new season of “Silo” is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
