In THE GUTTER, when frequently laid-off Walt (Shameik Moore) lands a job as a bartender and shoeshine boy at his local bowling alley, AlleyCatz, he feels he’s finally found a home. When financial troubles threaten AlleyCatz, Walt is pressured by former pro-bowler and current drinking champ Skunk (D’Arcy Carden) to take on the role of the greatest bowler to ever walk the face of the earth. While Walt’s love of big checks and brazen play dominate the pro tour, his critics, including ratings-obsessed news anchor Angelo Powers and newly retired bowling legend Linda “The Crusher” Curson (Susan Sarandon), fervently try to snuff out Walt’s flame before it burns too brightly.
