Cooking | Strawberry Smoothie and Cupid’s Arrow

On Valentine’s Day I like to do something small and fun, without offering a ton of candy. We thought making this strawberry smoothie would fit the theme, especially when cupid got involved.

Strawberry Smoothie

Ingredients
1 cup frozen strawberries, plus a couple fresh or thawed ones
1/3 cup coconut or white sugar
4 cups milk

Combine all of your ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth. If you think the smoothie is too thick, add a bit of water or milk.

Cupid’s Arrow

You’ll Need
Paper cups in the colour of your choice
Paper Straws
Coloured Craft Paper
Tape or Glue Dots
Fresh Strawberries – green removed
Hole Punch

1. In each paper cup make one hole right under the rim. Then make another hole on the opposite side of the cup, slightly lower. Check that your straw fits through – enlarge holes if needed.

2. Cut small rectangles from craft paper, fold in half and cut ends at an angle to create an arrow shape, cut parallel lines at the same angle without cutting all the way through.

3. Attach paper ‘feather’ to each straw with a glue dot or rolled piece of tape.

4. Slide straw through the cup and add strawberry to the end of it. Fill with smoothie and serve immediately.
