One of our big projects this summer is working on Ellie’s room. She is super excited! She’s been living with the same paint since she was born. And while she hasn’t complained (she’s a trooper, that one), she has mentioned she’s ready for a change. It’s time she had a room that reflects what she loves now—art!
And this week, MJ has the perfect project for us! It’s inspired by a piece of modern art that MJ and her son loved from the Chicago Institute of Art.
All you’ll need is some washi and duct tape to create various widths of stripes in your child’s favorite colors. It makes a bold statement and is incredibly easy to make. Even a 4-yo can do it. Click here for the tutorial.
To accompany the hand crafted art, which will be a great addition to our girl’s room, I chose some additional pieces that I think she’ll love. Pictured above:
1. Ellie adores our dog and this image reminds us both of her
2. Turtles bring good luck and wisdom
3. Nature rocks!
4. The girl loves New York
Be sure to check out the project over on Pars Caeli and let us know what you think! Oh and check out what Ali, Melissa, and Amy chose to accompany MJ’s large scale art piece in their children’s rooms.
